Impactful Videos

Over time, I’ve collected some videos that I thought showed various aspects of privacy, OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence), identity theft, and similar issues.

All are meant to make you and I think about what we share, post, and provide to online sites and services. Please consider sharing a link to this page and changing behaviors to limit your online data.

The “Nachricht von Ella | Without Consent” video below shows what can be done with images and videos that people (parents in the video) share. It specifically focuses on the sharing of those “awwwwwwww” inspiring videos and pics we see of kids.

The “Data to Go” video below illustrates what can happen when you click on those “like” or other engaging social media posts for stores. The massive amounts of data that can be collected in just seconds is not just something people on TV do. It is real. With access to social media profiles, free and paid tools, we really can put together an in-depth portfolio on you, your family, and other activities in the time it takes the grab a good latte.

Data to Go

Similar to “Data to Go” above, the “Amazing mind reader reveals his ‘gift’” video below shows what can be done with a dedicated team of OSINT/intelligence professionals. No, we do not wear balaclavas when working investigations and I simply do not understand how they didn’t hear those clackity keyboards before the curtain falls…but that is TV for ya!

The “How Did You Find Me?” video below is a little playful but shows what a motivated person can do to find someone. It is humor with a pane of unsettling “could this really happen?” thrown in.

How Did You Find Me?

This “What’s Your Password?” video highlights how easy it can be to manipulate people sometimes. Granted there is a television camera in these people’s faces and pressure to answer the questions from the reporter/interviewer, but the way they share some really deep secrets is revealing.

What am I missing?
